Caring for Your Stone

In order to protect your investment, please follow these recommendations for the care and maintenance of you natural stone:

DOs
• Do clean all surfaces with warm water and mild detergent or stone soap (available at StoneCutters).
• Do rinse and dry surfaces after cleaning.
• Do blot up spills immediately.
• Do reapply stone sealer (available at StoneCutters) to surface as soon as you notice water no longer stands on the surface.
• Do use antibacterial cleaners in food preparation areas.

DON’Ts
• Don’t use abrasive cleaners like Comet, Ajax, or Soft Scrub.
• Don’t use cleaners that contain acid such as bathroom cleaners, grout cleaners, or tub & tile cleaners.
• Don’t use cleaners that contain vinegar or lemon juice.
• Don’t sit or stand on stone countertops.
• Don’t cut directly on stone countertops; always use a cutting board.
• Don’t put hot pots and pans directly on stone countertops; always use a hot pad or trivet.
